Roberto Owen Martin

Roberto Owen Martin was born on June 27, 1935 in Christobal Hospital in Colon to
Leonard & Lena Martin (whom preceded him in death). They moved to Silver City on the
Canal Zone in the Republic of Panama. While in Colon he attended Colegio Abel Bravo
for a short time. Then while in Panama City where he attended and graduated from
Artes y Oficios.
He started his employment career with the Rodman Hotel in the Canal Zone, then
transferred to the Panama Canal Company where he worked for many years. He then
worked as an Accountant for the Continental Hotel as well as the Tivoli Hotel in the
Republic of Panama. He moved to the United States in 1967. Continuing the hotel
profession at the Commodore Hotel New York, NY until becoming an Allstate Agent
where he retired and moved to Dacula Ga in 2005.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Rose E. Martin (his loving wife of 24 years), Brothers
Leonard Martin, and Dennis (wife Armanda) Martin, Brother-in-Law Henderson Eure Jr.,
and Sister-in-Law Selma McEachern, Children: Ivonne Martin Hunt, Mauricia (Husband
Douglas) Martin Moore, Lena May (Husband Fernando) Martin Prince, Angela Martin
Neal, Marcia (Husband Fernando) Austin, Roberto Martin Etienne, Zenaida Cecelia
Martin, Donna Alicia Martin, Pastors Zoraida (Husband Maximo) Martin Gabin, Ruben
Dario Martin, Luis Martin, Roberto Martin Grant, and Carla A. James. GodDaughters
Kimberley Nevers-Faulkner and Jennifer Igualas. A host of Grandchildren, Great
Grandchildren, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.
Roberto and Rose became members of Victory Church of Norcross Ga in 2005 where
he dedicatedly served as an Usher alongside his cousin Phil Roland. He took pleasure
in attending his Small Group meetings where he spent quality time with fellow Men of
God.
In lieu of flowers, Roberto requested that donations be made to his favorite charities St.
Jude, The Red Cross, and The American Kidney Foundation.
