Robin Gale Fleming

Robin Gale Fleming, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, went to be with Jesus peacefully in her home in Southport, NC on August 5, 2025. Robin Gale Piner was born January 11, 1963 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Daniel and Rowena Piner. She was a sister to Dale Piner, Danny Piner, Cammie Neill, and Rebecca Poole.
Robin grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina- attending Garner Senior High School and Midway Baptist Church. She attended UNCW in Wilmington, NC and graduated from Troutman Beauty School of Wilmington Inc. In 1985, Robin and Dwayne Fleming married, after only 6 dates. Robin worked in the Raleigh and Wilmington area as a hair stylist, and operated her own business "Robin's Nest Hairstyling" out of her home, while raising her children. Robin and Dwayne were very involved in their home church. Her biggest passion in life was being a mother to her three daughters and a "MiMi" to her five granddaughters. She loved music from an early age, especially country music. She always said she was "country when country wasn't cool". In addition to her family, she enjoyed singing, writing and acting in church productions, such as Judgement House at Scotts Hill Baptist Church. She loved flamingos and the color pink. She was known to her family and friends for having a quick wit, sense of humor, intuitive wisdom and deep loyalty. Most importantly, she was a follower of Jesus Christ.
Robin is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, Dwayne Fleming of Southport, NC; Her daughters, Elizabeth Hufham (spouse, Cameron Hufham) of Southport, NC, Rachel Burks of Southport, NC, and Sarah Ray (spouse, Landon Ray) of Burgaw, NC; and her five granddaughters, Kendall and Sutton Hufham of Southport, NC and Lorence, Holland, and Hallie Ray of Burgaw, NC; Her siblings, Dale Piner of Wilmington, NC, Cammie Neill of Milledgeville, GA, and Rebecca Poole of Hampstead, NC and their families. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rowena Piner, her brother, Danny Piner, and her nephew Justin Piner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Brunswick Funeral Service (3479 Southport-Supply Rd SE, Bolivia, NC 28422) on August 16, 2025 at 11:00am. Visitation will begin at 10:00am.
