Robin Marchant Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCalla Memorial Funeral Home on Nov. 27, 2024.
Robin Duane Marchant, 61, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
Robin is preceded in death by Arthur Marchant (Father), Rickie Marchant (Brother), James Boothe (Big Daddy), Elizabeth Boothe (Big Mama), T Marchant (Paw Paw), and Velma Marchant (Maw Maw).
Robin is survived by his Mother Shirley Marchant. Shirley tirelessly cared for Robin his entire life. Robin was severely injured in an automobile accident one week before his 19th birthday. Robin spent 5 months in a coma while family and friends hoped and prayed for his survival. Robin survived the accident with a severe brain injury that caused a loss of vision in his left eye and paralysis on his left side. Robin, a very active young man, was then confined to a wheelchair.
Robin loved The University of Alabama. He would often tell people that Alabama was number one while holding up his index finger. Robin would then quickly say something derogatory about Auburn while holding up a different finger! On most Alabama football gamedays, if you passed by the Marchant home, you would find Robin at the end of the driveway wearing his Alabama attire, shaking his red and white shaker, and waving at cars that were heading to Tuscaloosa.
Robin loved listening to music and singing loudly. He especially loved to listen to the radio while riding in the car with his cousin Frank. Robin loved his family and friends dearly. He would always tell them that he loved them.
Robin's family would like to thank the entire staff of the Glen Haven Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care they provided Robin. A special thank you to Bobbi, Sheridan, Alicia, Donna, Ty, Michael, and Shampoo.
