Rochelle Francis Strickland, 87, of Jackson went to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.
She was born May 9, 1938, in Scofield, Utah, daughter of Matt and Rose Skufca Koski.
She married Jack F. Strickland June 8, 1957, in Provo, Utah.
Rochelle was a graduate of Carbon High School in Price, Utah. After she and Jack married, they resided in Montgomery, Alabama, while he served as a police officer. In 1966 they moved to Springfield, where he attended Baptist Bible College. Following his graduation, Rochelle faithfully served alongside him in ministry at Perry Hill Road Baptist Church in Montgomery City, Alabama; Calera Bible Baptist Church in Calera, Alabama; Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau from 1974–1991 and North Valley Baptist Church in Phoenix, Arizona, from 1991–2005.
She was deeply involved in teaching Sunday school, working with children’s ministries, and leading women’s ministries. After retiring, she and Jack lived in Arizona City, Arizona, before she returned to the Cape Girardeau area.
Rochelle enjoyed games, puzzles, music – especially playing the accordion – and reading.
Loving survivors include two children, Janelle (Mike) Culbreth of Jackson and Matt (Larell) Strickland of Elkmont, Alabama; four grandchildren, Tavia (Nick) Lundy, Stacee Strickland, Mikelle (Kody) Lorenz and Nathan Culbreth; and four great-grandchildren, Madyson, Lily, Noah, and Charlotte.
Rochelle was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, the Rev. Jack Strickland; her parents; and a sister, JoEdda Turner.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
