Rodne Wickenheiser Obituary

Born on August 10, 1961 in Monroe, Michigan, he was the son of Robert Wickenheiser and Bonnie Ferguson.
He was co-owner of Petits Automotive, then was employed with Roush Industries as a mechanic for 18 years.
Rodne was a member of Ash Township Volunteer Fire Department during the years of 1986-1995 & 2005-2020, totaling 24 years of service and teaching. He enjoyed camping, gardening, golf, family croquet games and especially loved playing softball in his early days. He was active with the Airport High School football team, filming their games. He was very active and involved with his father's tent rental business, Wicky's Party Tents. He was well known for his cooking. Rod loved to share whatever he prepared, whether that was smoked meats, smoked mac and cheese or vegetables he grew in his garden. He was very proud of being called "Papa Rod" by his grandchildren.
Rodne was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wickenheiser, and stepfather, Dennis Ferguson.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Jake) Wickenheiser-Millyard, mother, Bonnie Ferguson, stepsons, Jeff Ritter, Ryan Ritter, grandchildren, Evelyn Millyard, Lana Millyard, Mac Millyard, siblings, Shelle (John) Lieto, Brian (Connie) Wickenheiser, Darrin (Barb Mainzinger) Ferguson, nephews and nieces, John Paul (Jenny) Lieto, Robert Lieto, Thomas Lieto, Haley (Andrew Roderick) Wickenheiser, Chloe (Austin) Smith, Tyler Ferguson.
Visitation will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton Chapel on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 6:00 pm. Deacon Tracy Esper will officiate the service. Private family burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Carleton, Michigan.
The family would like to thank the staff of Corewell Health Trenton and Custom Hospice for the amazing care they provided for Rodne.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Ash Township Volunteer Fire Department.
