Rodney Dean Krutsinger, 77 of Colorado Springs, Co passed away on July 27, 2025.
He was born in Mattoon, IL on June 28, 1948 to Betty Barnhart and Melvin W. Krutsinger. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brad Krutsinger and grandparents Susie and Lou Dodson.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife Priscilla Medina Krutsinger of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Mark (Anita) Krutsinger of Arthur, IL and Dennis (Sandi) Krutsinger of Austin, TX; numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
Rodney served 2 years in the US Army as a part of the military police. He enjoyed training the military dogs. He was awarded the National Defense Service medal.
He was a quiet and reserved man before he met Priscilla. Her love changed that. He enjoyed reading. His favorite authors were: James Patterson, David Baldacci, and John Grisham. He was a history buff who wanted to be a school teacher. He enjoyed playing cards and golfing with his friends. Mostly it was hanging out with his buddies, not so much the golfing part. As a child, he helped is grandfather shoe horses. That started his love for horses. He enjoyed listening to oldies but his all-time favorites were Jimmy Buffet and Willie Nelson.
He was good spirited as he handed out nicknames to those around him. He was known as Uncle Rodney and Dandy to his golf buddies. To Aunt Irene, he was her prodigal son. His passion was volunteering at the Marian House Soup Kitchen on Bijou Street.
Family was very important to Rodney. He loved his brothers and family above all else.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rodney's name to the Marian House Soup Kitchen on Bijou Street, via Catholic Charites 719-475-7314.
