Rodney Austin Lashbrook, 81, of Spencer, Indiana, a longtime Morgan County resident, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, at Franciscan Hospital in Indianapolis. Rodney was one of three sons born to the late Roy Clifford and Mildred (Elliott) Lashbrook Bates. He was born Wednesday, March 17, 1943, in Abydel, Indiana.
Mr. Lashbrook was a graduate of Warren Central High School. Shortly after high school he married the love of his life, Tyhanna Kay (Saunders) Lashbrook on July 21st, 1962. She survives, living in Spencer, Indiana. He also leaves behind a host of loving family including his sons, Guy Alan Lashbrook (wife, Catherine) of Martinsville, Indiana, Kirk David Lashbrook of Norman, Oklahoma, Keith Brian Lashbrook (wife, Cindy) of Gosport, Indiana, Eric Wayne Lashbrook (wife, Donna Marie) of Florida, Patrick Austin Lashbrook (wife, Julie) of Pennsylvania, Scott Elliott Lashbrook (wife, Lorie) of New York, daughter, Hanna Kay Martin (husband, Robert) of Spencer, Indiana, brother, Robert Lashbrook of Minnesota, forty-seven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard Lashbrook, daughter-in-love, Joann LaHaye Lashbrook and one grandson, Robert Martin, Jr.
Rodney and his wife attended the Assembly of God Church in Martinsville for several years. Both Rodney and his wife attended Brownsville Revival School of Ministry, birthed out of the fires of the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, FL and both were ordained and served as missionaries. Serving as a missionary was certainly a passion of Mr. Lashbrook's, although family was his heart and soul. He was an avid NASCAR fan and an expert woodworker, making many items for his family and his home. He retired from Allison's Gas Turbine in 1990, where he was a spiral bevel gear engineer.
In honoring Mr. Lashbrook's final wishes, his earthly remains will be cremated. His family will honor him with a gathering to celebrate his life on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Hoosier Harvest Church, 4085 Leonard Rd., Martinsville, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Dream Team, 4029 Leonard Rd., Gosport, IN 47433 or to Morning Star Ministries Disaster Relief for victims of Hurricane Helene at https://www.morningstarministries.org/hurricane-helene-relief. Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be shared with Mr. Lashbrook's family at www.nealandsummers.com.
