Rodrick Dale "Joe Boy" Gotte, 58, of Gotts Cove Community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, surrounded by those he loved best.
Services for Mr. Gotte will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., at Grace Community Church with Pastor Kevin Colsen officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Community Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
A gathering of friends and family will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church and will close at 9:00 p.m. It will resume Saturday at 8:00 a.m. and continue until the 12:00 p.m. service.
Mr. Gotte was born on July 13, 1966, in Crowley, to Marion and Lola Belle Leckelt Gotte. He was a lifelong resident of Gott's Cove. He was a member of Grace Community Baptist Church. Mr. Gotte worked in the oilfield/refineries in his adult life. He took great pride in and took great care of his family. He never met a stranger. Playing his accordion was a favorite thing to do especially for family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 34 years, Rhonetta LeGros Gotte; three daughters, Kadi Schexnayder (Sidney) of Gotts Cove, Kasi Granger (Derek) of Oberlin, Kali Joe Self (Dustyn) of Hathaway; sister, Frieda Gotte of Gotts Cove; ten grandchildren, Aubreigh, Wyatt, Sophie, Hadlei, Trenton, Hailey, Ellenore, Titus, Norah, John David; sister-in-law, Dannette Stagg; and many nieces and nephews, all who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Lola Belle Gotte; four brothers, Rocky Gotte, Kirt Gotte, Patrick Gotte and Baby Gotte; one grandbaby, Baby Granger; and mother-in-law, Lorraine LeGros.
Carrying to his final resting place are Sidney Schexnayder, Derek Granger, Dustyn Self, Jody Dykes, Cole Breaux, Blane Gotte and Nikolas LeGros. Honorary pall bearers are Wyatt Leckelt, Trent and Titus Schexnayder and John David Granger.
