The family and friends of Maisie Gotte are mourning the loss of their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who was called from this life on April 30, 2024, at the age of 86. Maisie Gotte was born to Willie and Aline Abraham on October 1, 1937. Maisie was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family which she adored. She loved to bake, cook, and attend church. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Maisie was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Maisie is survived by her two sons; Ricky and his wife Pamela Gotte, Byran and his wife Linda Gotte, two sisters; Myrtis Abraham and Thelma Boutin five grandchildren; Erin Gotte Blanchard and her husband Jonathan Blanchard, Richard Gotte and his wife Erin Long Gotte, Thomas Gotte and his partner Nikka Khorsandi, Cory Gotte and his partner Tristan Ducote, and Jace Daniel Gotte. As well as seven great-grandchildren, Grace, Ava, and Eden Blanchard, Everett Gotte, Mia Gotte, Emma Gotte, and Knox Lagrange.
Maisie is preceded in death by her husband Richard Gotte, parents, Willie Gotte and Aline Abraham Gotte, and three sisters: Nola Mae Abraham, Margery Smith, and Nelarine Benoit, and one brother Ray Abraham.
Funeral Services to honor Maisie's life will be held at The Grand Marais 919 North Lake Arthur Ave in Jennings, LA on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
Those chosen to honor Maisie as her pallbearers will be Richard Gotte, Cory Gotte, Everett
Gotte, Jace Daniel Gotte, Thomas Gotte, and Jonathan Blanchard.
Thank you to Troy and Sheila Hebert, Al and Roxy Lacombe for their wonderful care and support to Maisie.
