Deloris Jean Letchworth

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings, LA for Ms. Deloris Jean Letchworth, 80, who passed away late Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at her home in Jennings, LA. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held from 11:00 AM until her services at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings, LA. The family has chosen to honor Ms. Deloris with cremation following her services. Pastor Stephen Nassif of Our Savior's Church will officiate. Deloris was born in Ville Platte, LA on May 11, 1945, to the late Mr. Raeburn Ardoin and Mrs. Verneta Tate Ardoin. She was a proud business owner and is known for operating roller-skating rinks. Her efforts for her business were proudly shown and very well known. Deloris had a love for people and to no one's surprise soon developed the heartwarming name of "Moma Jean" and was known by all who visited her establishment. Beyond her work pursuits she found much joy in fishing and gardening. She always looked forward to spending time with her home and work families. A beloved mother, grandmother and dear friend who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Deloris is survived by her sons, Kelby Letchworth of Jennings, LA and James Letchworth (Dennis) of Long Beach, CA; her daughter, Dawna Letchworth (Maryanna) of Long Beach, CA, her seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raeburn Ardoin and Verneta Tate Ardoin; her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Wayne Letchworth; her brother, Anthony Ardoin; her sister, Patsy Aguillard; her son, John Kenneth Letchworth; her oldest grandson, Brentton Letchworth.
