With loved ones by his side, after a lengthy illness, Roger Cote passed on March 21, 2025.
He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, and friend to all who met him. He was 69. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Roger was born in Biddeford, Maine. The son of Leo & Doris (Binette) Cote.
Roger had a love for fast cars. He also loved electronics and gadgets, always fascinated by the latest innovations. His love for technology was only rivaled by his deep love for people. He was always willing to lend a hand, whether to a friend in need or a stranger who could use some kindness. His compassion extended beyond people-he adored animals, especially cats, who seemed to sense his gentle spirit.
A dedicated professional, Roger worked as a critical care EMT, saving lives and providing comfort in times of crisis. He also contributed his skills and dedication at Pratt & Whitney, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and friends. No matter where life took him, his heart always remained with his family, and he was profoundly proud of his two daughters and his grandchildren, whom he cherished beyond words.
Roger had a strong faith that guided him through life. He found strength and purpose in his spirituality, offering guidance and comfort to those around him. His presence was a beacon of warmth and wisdom, reminding us all of the power of love and faith.
He enjoyed life's simple pleasures-steamed hot dogs, peanut butter cups, and a good movie, especially Top Gun, which remained a favorite throughout his life. His love for these small joys mirrored his approach to life: finding happiness in every moment and sharing it with those he loved.
Though he is no longer with us, Roger's legacy of kindness, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who cherished him, and a world that is undoubtedly better because he was in it.
Roger is survived by his loving sister, Joan Cote; his devoted daughters, Lynn Sherman and Denise Aldrich (David); and his cherished grandchildren, Joshua Sherman, Andrew Aldrich, Noella Aldrich, Samantha Aldrich, and Meghan Aldrich.
He also leaves behind his most devoted and beloved friend, Beverly Bergeron.
A Funeral Mass for Roger will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery
