Roger A. Gagnon, 82, of St. Augustine, FL, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Roger attended Holy Name High School in Worcester, MA and received his degree in Industrial Engineering from Worcester Junior College. Roger retired from Smith Valve Corp as Vice President Marketing in 1983 after more than 20 years with the company; he then became an entrepreneur.
Roger is predeceased by his parents, Laura R. Gagnon Chandonnet (Trudel) and Armand L. Gagnon, stepfather, Louis F. Chandonnet; his brothers, Raymond Gagnon and Russell Gagnon; his stepsiblings, Constance Cote (Chandonnet) and Dorothy Turcotte (Chandonnet); and his friend of many years Anthony (Tony) D'Amico.
Roger is survived by his husband and partner of 41 years, Eric J. Brochu of St. Augustine; sisters, Lorraine Haddad (Gagnon) of Worcester, MA, and Diane Faucher (Gagnon) of Windham, NH; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Gagnon (Collette), wife of Raymond, and Mona Metro-Gagnon, wife of Russell; stepsiblings, Louis Chandonnet, Jeannine Walker (Chandonnet), and Gloria St. Laurent (Chandonnet); and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257 or a charity of your choice.
Calling hours will be held from 5 – 7 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 24, 2023 at St. Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Entombment will follow at Notre Dame Mausoleum, 162 Webster Street, Worcester, MA
