Roger Lee Hawks, 78, of Hollis, Arkansas, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 11, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church in Hollis, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Hawk Cemetery in Hollis under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Born April 24, 1947, in Hollis, Roger was the son of Loyd and Gulelma (Crain) Hawks. He married the love of his life, Nancy Imelda (Mallett) Hawks, on June 26, 1971, in Eureka Springs, beginning a life together that lasted 53 years and stood as a model of devotion and partnership.

A proud United States Army veteran, Roger served his country in Vietnam, specializing in military law enforcement. After returning home, he spent his civilian life as a dedicated iron worker in the steel industry-hard, honest work that suited his strong hands and resilient spirit.

Roger was a true country man at heart. He loved the quiet of rural life, the satisfaction of working in his shop, the joy of hunting, and the simple fun of casino gaming. More than anything, he cherished being a good neighbor-always ready to help, always ready to lend his time, tools, or company. He was a steady presence in the community and a member of the Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Berl Hawks. He leaves behind many who loved him deeply: his wife, Nancy; his son, Joshua Hawks of Perryville; his daughters, Natashia Studer (David) of Hollis and Hillary Hawks of Hollis; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Lareda Crawford (Dean) of Hollis; and his sister-in-law, Connie Hawks of Hollis.

Those who knew Roger will remember him as a devoted family man, a hardworking veteran, and a loyal friend-someone who lived simply, loved deeply, and made his corner of the world a better place.
