Roger Allen Honig

Roger Honig was born on February 13, 1945 to Florence Bernadine (Dieringer) Honig and Joseph Hugo Honig. He grew up in the Portland Oregon area attending school. After high school, he attended trade school to become a journeyman ironworker. He was a president of the Shopmen's Local 516 while working as an ironworker. He also worked for the state of Oregon Apprenticeship Program covering 13 counties before retiring in 2006.
Roger was married on March 16, 1966 in Coeur d'Alene Idaho to Christine Erbs. On April 24, 1993 Roger was married to Marilyn Sweigart in Pendleton, Oregon.
Roger enjoyed fly fishing and hunting during his life as well as gardening and camping.
Roger is survived by his wife Marilyn Honig of Newport OR and his daughters Cindy Cole of Eatonville, WA, Connie (Gregg) McDermott of Dallas OR, Sharon (Greg) Orme of Eugene, OR and sons Jeffery (Michelle) Honig and Paul (Amanda) Honig of Phelan, CA. He is also survived by step-son Jim (April) Sweigart of Clinton, UT and step-daughter Karen Oeser of Greenville SC, and sister JoAnn (Dennis) Whitten of Beaverton OR and brother Larry (Nancy) Honig Tacoma WA.
Roger is survived by 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Roger is preceded in death by mother Florence Honig and father Joseph Honig and sister Lois Lestiko.
Family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
