Roger Jennings, 67, husband of Kathie Brooks Jennings, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Born October 30, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lowell Thomas Jennings and Audrey Jennings Jones. Roger grew up in Dayton where he graduated from Bethel High School and was a musician having been a member of Silver Crossing Band. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR.
He met his soul mate and love of his life Kathie Jennings in November of 1987 in Dayton and were later married September 13, 1996. He loved his family and was the true definition of a husband, dad, and papaw.
In addition to his wife, Roger has four children: Mandy Justice (Coleman James), Christina Hogan (Luke Hogan), Andrea Shannon (William McFerron), and Thomas Pratt (Tishana Scott); twelve grandchildren: Jacob Justice, Alex Justice, Bella Craig, Thomas Sturgeon, Trinity Williamson, Treyton Williamson, Elijah Hogan, Nehemiah Hogan, Christopher Shannon, Kaleb Shannon, Noah Pratt, and Ellie Pratt; two brothers: Darryl Jennings and Harry Jennings; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lowell Thomas Jennings and Audrey Jennings Jones, one granddaughter Amy Justice and one brother Michael Jones.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 8, 2023 at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Releford officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Jacob Justice, Jim Allen, James Brooks, William McFerron, Luke Hogan, and Kenny Brawner serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Pratt, Dustin Williams, and Coleman James.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 7:00 A.M. Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
