Born August 17, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Bruno and Rose (Stella) Jump, Roger William Jump Sr. passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 95.
Roger was the beloved husband of the late Antoinette Jump, and the devoted father of the late Roger Jump II (Judy), the late Reyne, and the late Robert. He was the cherished grandfather of Roger Jump III (Michelle) and Jena Jump, and proud great-grandfather of Brayden and Audrey. Roger is also survived by his dear brother Kenneth (Dorothy), and was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Roger lived a life defined by discipline, organization, and meticulous attention to detail. He loved baseball and softball, both as a player and manager, winning national and world championships. He was deeply devoted to his family and faith.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 25800 Harper Avenue, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081.
A Rosary service will be performed at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 38775 Prentiss Street, Harrison Township, MI 48045. Roger will lie in state at 10:00 a.m., with Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
He will be remembered with love and admiration by all who knew him.
