Roger A. Kidd, 58, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He battled cancer for 2 years but fought the good fight.
He was born November 9, 1967, in Oneida, Tennessee, the son of Finley and Brenda (Fletcher) Kidd. Roger graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1986, and it was Roger's boyhood dream to play basketball for the Muncie Central Bearcats.
Roger was an Environmentalist for American Environmental, retiring in 2024.
Roger was a loving husband, father, and Pappy who enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. Roger was always willing to help others.
He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed basketball and coaching his girls in softball. He traveled to many places with his wife and family, especially to Kings Island. He also enjoyed visiting state and national parks and exploring caves.
Roger was a gun and knife enthusiast and was an avid music buff who could sing along to any song on the radio. Roger always kept his lawn mowed and manicured.
Roger is survived by his wife of 32 years, Kelly Kidd; three daughters, Brooke (Matthew) Rooney, Kasey Kidd, and Erin Kidd; grandchildren, Beckham Teal, Layla Morgan, Madilyn Miller, Riley Miller, and Raiden Kidd; his parents, Finley and Brenda Kidd; sister, Melissa (Todd) Miller; brothers, Brian (Michelle) Kidd and Kevin (Doris) Kissick; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nancy and Andrew Kidd; maternal grandmother, Eva Fletcher; and special aunt, Ann and Charles Miller; and several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
