Roger E. Lowry, age 85, of Cridersville passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his home. He was born February 12, 1940, in Cridersville to the late Robert Hobson and Frances Evelyn 'Kate' (Walther) Lowry. He married Sharon Louise Corwin June 22, 1955, and she survives in Cridersville.
Roger graduated from Cridersville High School and was a member of Cridersville United Methodist Church. He had a very colorful life with many jobs and businesses. He had been a meatcutter for Kroger and Clyde Evans, owner of Roger's Market in Rockford, BJ's Carryout in St. Marys, and R & S Leasing charter bus company. Roger had also been an independent over-the-road truck driver. He played guitar and with a few friends formed a small band. Roger also enjoyed fishing.
Additional survivors include children: Mike (Deb) Lowry of Wapak, Pam Demeny of Huntsville, and Tony (Peg) Lowry of St. Marys; 5 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren.
Roger was preceded in death by his brother Gordon R. Lowry in 2020.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 2, from 11 to 1 with the funeral service to follow at 1. Pastor Bruce McDaniel will officiate, and burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Interim Hospice.
The family would like to thank Otterbein and Interim Hospice for their loving care given to Roger.
