He was born on January 19, 1972 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The son of Robert Smith and Carla Phillips. He enjoyed going to and participating in demolition derbies. He loved to listen to music, have cookouts, and hang out with his family and friends. Roger was always the life of the party.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother Carla Eubanks; biological father Roger Rhynalds; all of his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his father Robert Smith of Arthur, IL; daughters Makenzie (Chris) Davie of Energy and Kelcy (Zack) Essex of Herrin; sons Christian (Kelsie) Smith of Johnston City, Lucas (Megan) Smith of West Frankfort and Jake (Casandra) Smith of West Frankfort; sister Misty (Andy) Appleby of Atwood, IL; and 7 grandchildren Trace, Tyson, Chloe, Banks, Easton, Ella, and Caleb.
Services will be held on Wednesday May 21, 2025 in the Union Funeral Home at 11:00am with Brother Mike Cash officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am prior to the service.
