Roger Lionel St. Germain, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 3, 2023. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Joseph & Beatrice (Blais) St. Germain.
Roger enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in active duty until 1951. He achieved the rank of Sergeant and was very proud of his service to his country. Semper Fi!
He had a long career in the supermarket industry particularly with Growers Outlet and Big Y Foods. He married the love of his life, Mary L. Iellamo in 1953. They lived in Wilbraham for many years raising their two beloved daughters, Cindy, and Nancy. Roger was a dedicated husband and father, and his girls were always his number one priority.
Roger was a sports enthusiast. He loved watching all kinds of sports but particularly college games. He loved reading and would spend hours with the local newspapers and the Wall Street Journal, always with an eye on the stock market. He loved spending time and talking often with all his grandchildren. His family was the light of his life.
After his wife Mary passed away, Roger moved to Bonita Springs, Florida to be closer to his daughters and their families. It was a major change for him, but it was a wonderful move as he was able to spend so much time with his family.
Roger is survived by his loving daughters, Cindy Pereira & husband Jaime of Naples, FL and Nancy Morris & significant other Hugh Vaughn of Estero, FL, sister, Theresa Berube, grandchildren, Daniel Pereira, Jonathan Pereira & wife Gretchen, Nicholas Pereira & wife Brittany, Caitlin LaBonte & husband Jon Krehl, and great-grandchildren, Olivia & Madelyn Pereira and Chloe & Chalessi Kehl.
Along with his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Richard.
Funeral services will be held privately at a later date.
