Roger Wayne Starnes was born September 24, 1954 in Lebanon, Missouri to Harold Wayne Starnes and Ruth Janet Peterson Starnes. He passed away in his home Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the age of seventy years, seven months and ten days.
Roger was raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School. Following his schooling, he began working as a carpenter. He then was employed at Detroit Tool. Later in life he was a bus driver for Gasconade C-4 Schools. Most recently, Roger had a second hand store and a saddle shop.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Ruth Starnes.
He is survived by his sisters, Elaine Stark and her husband Jim and Karen James and her significant other, Keith; his nieces and nephews, Joshua Lewis and his wife Tina, Travis Lewis and his wife Kimberly, Amy Waterman and her husband Kevin and Zachary James and his significant other, Sheena Lowrance; and several great-nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Roger enjoyed attending Cowboy Church and had many friends in the community. He loved horses, country music and gardening. He enjoyed baking, especially pies. Roger also was interested in his family lineage and had researched genealogy about his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His loss is felt deeply by his family and friends and he will be so missed. We celebrate his life and know those who knew him will treasure the memories he made with them.
Service for Roger Starnes will be private.
