JOYCE DARLENE YORK, daughter of Martin James and Josie (McDowell) Satterfield, was born November 24, 1939, in Lebanon, Missouri and departed this life, to enter her Heavenly home on August 15, 2025, at the age of eighty-five years.

Joyce spent her childhood in Lebanon, where she attended Lebanon High School. She graduated with the class of 1958. She made friends easily and treasured each of them.

After high school, Joyce became the bookkeeper for a local car dealership. One afternoon, a young man named Glenn Roy York walked in. She commented how he was "the prettiest thing she had ever seen." After a period of dating, Glenn asked Joyce to be his wife. They said "I do" On September 7, 1963. To this union was born three children. Prior to Glenn's passing on June 21, 2024, they had shared sixty years of love and laughter, triumphs and tears, side by side. What a wonderful reunion that must have been.

Joyce made a profession of faith in Christ at a young age and lived her life accordingly. She was a longtime, active and faithful member of Lebanon First Assembly of God for many years, where she was also the bookkeeper for several years. The love, support, friendship and prayers from her church family were cherished.

Although her top priority was tending to the needs of her family, Joyce also worked outside her home. She was a bookkeeper for a local car dealership and later became owner, operator and bookkeeper of York's Service Center, along with Glenn, for thirty-eight years.

Joyce worked hard, but, she also enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting. She enjoyed singing and was part of the "Weddle Family Singers." She also enjoyed simply sitting with Glenn, when time allowed and watching cars go by. However, nothing compared to the time spent and memories made with her family. They were her greatest accomplishment and gave her the deepest joy.

Joyce is survived by two sons, John York and his wife Tammy and Brian York and his wife Susie, of Lebanon, MO; a daughter, Brenda Carsten of Fort Smith, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Cole York and his wife Carrie, Cannon York and his wife Payne, Michael York and his wife Caitlea, Levi Weaver, Steven Paul and his wife Kristen. Memphis Carsten and Josie Sharp and her husband Riley; one great-grandchild, Korbin Paul; one sister, Willene Donigan of Lebanon, MO; nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Those preceding her in death include her parents; her husband, Glenn; four brothers, Dean, Lowell, Stanley and Alvin Satterfield; and by three sisters, Opal Weddle, Thelma Meeth and Allene Anderson.

Joyce was the epitome of wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was devoted to her family and their needs always came before hers. She loved the Lord and taught her children the importance of faith over fear. We will miss her, but our loss is certainly Heaven's gain.

Visitation for Joyce will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 until service time at 1:00 at Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
