Roger Strauss, 85, of Waukesha, was born Oct. 23, 1939, in the town of Medina, son of Max and Margaret (Hensler) Strauss. He married Karen Koser on April 22, 1961, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Deerfield, WI. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1957, where he was active in sports, and from Madison Business College, where he was voted homecoming king. He chose Karen (his future wife) as queen. Roger worked many years at Graber Manufacturing Company, Xerox Computer Services and Cap Gemini America. His experiences were in information technology, management and sales. In retirement, he enjoyed being retired, yardwork, sudoku, fishing, computer work and jigsaw puzzles. Roger is survived by wife Karen, sons Todd of Waukesha and Tim (Laura) of Cedar Falls, IA, daughter Jill (David) Klitz of Cedarburg, and granddaughter Linnea Strauss of Cedar Falls, IA. He is further survived by a sister, Janice Freidel of Marshall, WI, as well as nieces, nephews and other family and friends, including neighbors past and present who have been very supportive. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law Joseph Freidel and John Koser, and sisters-in-law Kathryn Cerino and Joyce Koser. Roger's life will be celebrated with a funeral service on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church (1941 Madison St, Waukesha, WI 53188). Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery (605 S. Prairie Ave, Waukesha). In memory of Roger, memorials may be directed to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church or a charity of your choosing in his name. Roger will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart and quiet strength. His love for family, deep faith and genuine care for others left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
