Roger John Tarr, 89, of Green Island, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. Visitation will be 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Monday, February 24, 2025 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Funeral Services will begin following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be in First Presbyterian Cemetery in Bellevue.
Roger was born June 13, 1935 in Green Island, the son of Amel and Grace (Jones) Tarr. He attended grade school in Green Island and graduated from Miles High School in 1952. Roger married Bethel Colburn-Hamilton on May 28, 1955 at the Miles United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time on the river. Roger worked for the railroad as a young man, drove truck for Johnson Bros. Trucking in Miles, and operated heavy equipment. Later he farmed with his son growing corn and soybeans and feeding cattle for many years. Roger enjoyed spending time on the farm and visiting with family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Bethel; children, Tim Tarr and Trudy (Steve) Novich; grandchildren, Lillian Novich and Alexis Jobe; and great-grandchildren, Umi and Sora.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; and father and mother in-law, Leon and Lois Hamilton.
