Roger Dale Wilson, known affectionately as Dale to his friends and family, passed away on April 28, 2025, at the age of 74 in his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. Born on February 8, 1951, to the late Betty and Lester Wilson, Dale was a lifelong resident of Greenville and a pillar of his community.

Dale graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 1970, where he formed many lifelong friendships and developed a strong work ethic that would define his career. He dedicated many years as a maintenance supervisor for an apartment community, where his hardworking nature and problem-solving skills were greatly valued. Dale's colleagues knew him as a man who could always be relied upon, and his presence in the workplace will be deeply missed.

In 1975, Dale married the love of his life, Christine, and together they built a life filled with joy, support, and mutual respect. Their partnership was a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other. Dale was a devoted family man, and his love extended to his stepsister, Barbara Wilson Johnson; his aunts, Linda Davis Lynn and Karen Showghi; and his nephew, Dennis Campbell, along with Dennis's wife, Angie. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Betty and Lester Wilson, but his legacy of love and kindness continues through his family.

An avid outdoorsman, Dale found solace and excitement in fishing, a hobby that allowed him to embrace the tranquility of nature. He was also a passionate fan of Clemson Football and NASCAR, following each game and race with fervor. Dale's loyalty was not just to his sports teams but to all his loved ones, including his cherished pets, Libby, Gus, Sophie, Charlie, and Niki, who brought him immeasurable joy and companionship.

Those who knew Dale would describe him as loving, kind, and gentle. His warm smile and generous spirit were a beacon of light to everyone around him. Dale's ability to listen with empathy and offer support without judgment made him a confidant and friend to many.

Dale's life was a reflection of the values he held dear: love, kindness, and loyalty. His gentle presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye to Dale, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led and the countless ways in which he touched our hearts. His memory will continue to inspire us, and he will forever be remembered as a beloved husband, family member, friend, and community member.

A memorial will be held on May 15, 2025 at 6:30pm at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Mauldin, SC.
