Roland Eckert, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, veteran, and attorney, passed away on February 27, 2026. He was 79 years old.

Roland was the beloved husband of Deborah Eckert, his partner in life and love. Together they built a family that became the center of his world. He was a proud and loving father to Scott (Angi), Paul (Bridget), Beth Moss (Mike), and John. His guidance, steady presence, and unwavering support shaped their lives in countless meaningful ways.

Nothing brought Roland greater joy than his role as "Pop Pop." He cherished his grandchildren - Summer, Rain, Ocean, Maddie, and Abby - and found special delight in watching them grow. He was also blessed to be a great-grandfather to Harmony, Heavenly, and Scotlyn.

Roland is survived by his siblings: Karen, Amy, Steve (Patti), Tom (Ilene), Ellen (Steve), and Laura Stephens (Mike). He shared lifelong bonds with them, filled with memories, laughter, and enduring love. Roland also is survived many countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

A proud Vietnam veteran, Roland honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. His service reflected the deep sense of duty and integrity that defined his life. Following his military service, he pursued higher education and earned his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. As an attorney, he carried himself with fairness, intelligence, and a strong moral compass.

Above all else, Roland believed family was everything. Roland was extremely proud of all his children. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the love he shared.

He will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
