He leaves behind a legacy of care, intelligence, and warmth that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Roland dedicated 48 years of his life to Boeing, thriving as a mechanical engineer. His career was marked by significant contributions to classified projects, showcasing not just his exceptional intellect but also his commitment to advancing technology and innovation. He was also the recipient of numerous professional awards, recognizing his achievements in the world of engineering.
A proud alumnus of the University of Missouri at Columbia, Roland earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. His educational journey laid the foundation for a life marked by a love for knowledge and an enduring thirst for understanding that he carried throughout his life.
More than his impressive career, it was his character and compassion that truly defined Roland. Known for his comical spirit and unwavering sense of humor, he was a beacon of light to those around him. He had a special bond with his sister, Alice, always looking out for her and offering his support, especially during her times of health trials. Hours spent researching and finding ways to help her are a testament to the deep love he held for his family.
Roland's hobbies revealed his zest for life. He loved taking long walks through his neighborhood, engaging with neighbors, taking pride in his home and yard, and relishing the joy of being outdoors. He often spent cherished moments at Alice's home, admiring her yard and garden, reinforcing the bond they shared. As an intellectual, he also enjoyed hours spent researching everything from technology, medicine, and many other subjects.
His pride extended to his family, particularly in the admiration he held for his sister Alice, her husband, Richard, nieces Kimberly (Matt Schoen) Goode and Christine (Christopher) Perrey, and his great-nieces and nephew, Emma Goode, Lexi Perrey, and Andrew Perrey. He was not only a loving uncle but also a steadfast supporter, always encouraging those around him to pursue their passions.
Roland was preceded in death by his father, Roland William Mueller, Sr., and his mother, Adele Elizabeth Mueller. Their love and guidance shaped the remarkable man he became.
As we remember Roland, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. His genuine kindness, intelligence, and loving nature will continue to inspire his sister Alice, her children, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. Roland William Mueller, Jr. will be sorely missed, but his legacy of love and laughter will remain a guiding light in the lives of his family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home of West County, 2211 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a funeral ceremony at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Frieden's Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
