Obituary Roman Luis
Roman Luis, 34, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at his home in Boise, Idaho.
Roman was born September 23, 1990 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of Leticia Rodriguez and Victor Rivera Luis.
Roman grew up in the Moreland area. He attended Moreland Elementary and graduated from Snake River High School. During his high school years, he loved playing football.
He moved to Boise about 15 years ago and began working at a resident care center and was a caretaker to the disabled. He ultimately became the manager of the facility. He was a kind and gentle giant, but he also enjoyed being a bouncer at Humpin' Hannah's Bar in Boise.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed going to church on youth camps. He loved God and was a faithful follower.
He loved the outdoors and socializing with everyone. He enjoyed playing and watching soccer, and was also a big Raiders fan. He loved spending time with his mom and he loved cruising at night on his electric scooter.
After his father's passing, he took it upon himself to look out for the family. Whether family or not, Roman was always there for you and willing to help. Roman had a huge heart. His work was his calling. He loved working with his patients and they all loved him. Roman enjoyed cooking for everyone at the facility where he worked. It takes a very special person to do the work he did and to love and enjoy it like Roman did.
He is survived by his faithful dog Shadow; his mother Leticia Luis of Moreland ID; siblings Victor (Chelsea) Luis of Riverside ID and Michelle (Rudy) Ramirez of Moreland; grandmother Francisca and Froilan Rodriguez of Shelley ID; nieces Marina, Samaya, Natalie, Alaia and Isabella and nephews Gabe, Marcus, Rudy Jr., Javi and Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Luis; grandparents, Constancio and Severiana Luis; his uncles Jr., Leo, and Ray and aunts Emilia and Rosa.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2025 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. A rosary service will be held Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home. Following the Rosary the family will meet with friends until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
