Obituary Janeal Jensen, 88
Janeal Jensen, 88, longtime resident of Rockford, Idaho, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Janeal was born July 4, 1937 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Verla Clark and Kenneth Garn Cook.
She grew up in Ririe, Idaho where she attended school, graduating from Ririe High School. She continued her education at Ricks College, then Utah State University, where she earned her teaching degree.
On March 18, 1960, Janeal married John Duane Jensen in Ririe, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 13, 1962.
Janeal worked as a second grade school teacher for one year, but spent most of her life as a homemaker.
Always a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Janeal enjoyed serving as a lesson leader, Primary president, home teacher, and teaching DUP lessons.
Janeal loved to travel and visited many different countries. She enjoyed playing the piano, quilting, camping and fishing. More than anything, Janeal loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the American Angus Association and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Janeal is survived by her children, Robert Craig (Anna) Jensen of Pingree, Kenneth (Shannon) Jensen of Blackfoot, Nancy (Ronnie) Jensen of Aberdeen, and Barbara (David) Key of Blackfoot; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws; her husband J. Duane Jensen; son, Michael Jensen; grandchildren, Bailey Jean Key and Spencer Magnus Jensen; and a great granddaughter, Ruby Grace.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2025 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the funeral home and again for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
