Romona Wade

Romona (Boyer) Wade, age 95, of Wallingford, Vermont, passed away on July 2, 2025. She was born on April 8, 1930, in Mount Holly, Vermont, the daughter of Adrien J. and Anna (Garrow) Boyer. Romona graduated from Wallingford High School with the Class of 1949 and married Walter J. Wade on August 19, 1950. He predeceased her on January 5, 1994.
Romona was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A dedicated homemaker, she took great joy in cooking and baking for her family. She also loved crocheting and working on crossword puzzles-especially the daily puzzle in the Rutland Herald. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on her front porch, reading and watching the world go by.
She is survived by her son, David Wade and his wife Lisa of Tampa, Florida; two daughters, Dale Davenport and her husband Eric of Wallingford, and Barbara Maguire and her husband James of Proctor, Vermont. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Stacey Adams (Dan), Steve Wetherby (Brett Walker), Adam Wade, and Sarah Wade; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Matthew; her sister, Rita Brooks of Wallingford; and a sister-in-law, Marge Boyer, also of Wallingford.
In addition to her husband, Romona was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Doris Towne; her brother, Adrien "Art" Boyer; and her son, Richard Wade.
In accordance with Romona's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Wallingford.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wallingford Rescue Inc. or to a charity of one's choice.
