Ronald Keith Atteberry, known affectionately as Ron to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, in Ruston, Louisiana. Born on July 19, 1958, in San Diego, California, Ron's zest for life and his infectious humor touched everyone he met. His 66 years of life were marked by adventure, laughter, and the love of a close-knit family.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, William Atteberry and Geraldine Atteberry. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his beloved spouse, Tammy Atteberry, and their three sons, Dylan, Aaron, and Jon Adam Atteberry. His brother, William "Rick" Atteberry Jr., and sisters, Rita Atteberry Sides and Rose Mary Atteberry Laciter, will hold dear the bond they shared. Ron's six grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy, will miss their grandfather's playful spirit and endless stories.
After completing college to become a diesel mechanic, Ron turned his passion for fixing things into a lifelong career. He was a master of his craft, and there was no engine he couldn't coax back to life. His skills as a handyman extended beyond his workbench; he was the go-to person in the family for any repair or creative project.
Ron's adventurous soul led him to the great outdoors, where he found solace and excitement as an avid deer hunter. The thrill of the hunt was matched only by the peace he found in nature. His stories of the wilderness and the one that got away will be retold and cherished by his friends and family for years to come.
Those who knew Ron will remember him as a man who could light up a room with his quick wit and easy smile. He was the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a funny anecdote. His sense of humor was a gift that he shared generously, ensuring that laughter was a constant in the lives of those he loved.
Ron's adventurous spirit, his handiness with any tool, and his ability to make anyone laugh are the hallmarks of his memory. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire laughter, courage, and a love for life in all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
As we bid farewell to Ronald Keith Atteberry, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His stories, his laughter, and his love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Ron's journey through life was a testament to the power of positivity and the importance of family, friendship, and fun. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he has left behind.
