Ronald L. Ayres, 81, passed away on September 19, 2022, at his home in Selah, Washington. Ronald was born on July 27, 1941, to Harry and Effie Ayres, in Buena Vista, Virginia.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Army and served our country for eight years. During his service, he went to Korea and Germany. While he was at the Training Center in Selah, he met his wife, Juanda, and they married in 1963. They welcomed the first of their four children, Don. They later welcomed three daughters, Dena, Jodi, and Tena.
Ronald worked at the Weyerhaeuser (now International Paper) in Union Gap for 30+ years, until he retired at age 64.
Ronald enjoyed camping with his young family, fishing, baseball and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He would also spend his time going for drives through the canyon to see the elk and watch the other fishermen. He will be remembered for his captivating blue eyes.
Ronald is survived by his four children, Don (Julie) Ayres, Dena (David) Berman, Jodi Ayres, and Tena (Koen) Swart, six grandchildren, Tyler Berman, Kaci Tibbett-Egger, Sydnee Thielman, Kaitee Sanders, Dakota Swart, and Makala Swart, and five great-grandchildren, Audrie and Jase Berman, Braxtyn Dumas, Kamden Thielman and Beau Sanders. He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanda, parents, brothers, Douglas and Daniel Ayres, and sisters, Wanda Bryant, Norma Staton, and Dawn Burch.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, at 3:00pm at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
