Ronald E. Bittner Sr., 93, of Bartow, FL, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale, Florida.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Ronald was a 1950 graduate of Hamilton High School. After graduation he joined the National Guard, and trained at Camp Pine which would later become Fort Drumm. He proudly served for seven years. Ron was a Journeyman Plumber by trade and was a member of the Local #9 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union in Englishtown from 1951 until 1993.
In his free time, Ron was an avid bowler having belonged to several leagues over the years in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. He also enjoyed playing cards and shooting darts. Ron was also a former member of the Hamilton Square Baptist Church and served as a trustee at the Alturis Methodist Church in Florida.
Predeceased by his parents, Walter Henry and Margaret Ann (Blackwell) Bittner; his wife, Lorraine G. Bittner; and his brother, Walter G. Bittner. Ronald is survived by his children and their spouses, Linda L. and Tony Perkins, Sandra l. and Bruce Zeltt, Terry Ann Vanreymersdal, Ronald E. Jr. and Donna, Danny A. and Anne, and David K. and Dawn Bittner; his brother and sister-in-law, Harry M. and Meredith Bittner; his sister-in law, Catherine; his 14 grandchildren; his many great-grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
Graveside services and interment will follow at Rosedale Memorial Park in Bensalem, PA.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Bittner's memory to Shriners Children's, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. (www.shrinerschildrens.org)
