Ronald P. Chalker 81 of Binghamton, NY. Ron, my husband, my heart and best friend lost his battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer on September 25th after a nine-month fight. He was predeceased by his parents Carl and Minnie Chalker; his brothers Charles Smith and Richard Chalker; his brothers-in-law Lynn Place and James Robinsky; his mother-in-law Helen Robinsky. He is survived by his wife Roxanne Chalker; his brother Jack Chalker (Hawaii); his sisters Shirley Place (Binghamton) and Betty Zabadal (NC); also, several nieces, nephews and greats; his childhood friend Bob Kutz (Maria). Ron graduated from Binghamton North and served in the US Army in Korea. He retired from Vail Ballou after 42 years of service. He then became an amazing gardener growing vegetables and flowers. He spent hours on the internet researching "recipes" for composting and fertilizing. He took extreme pride in his yard and loved the compliments. He learned woodworking and remodeled the kitchen, built decks and could just about fix anything or tried! Never used duct tape but would "cobble" up a fix. He loved the NY Giants since age 12 even though they disappointed him at times. We have some amazing neighbors (family) Tom and Marilyn, Steve and Karla, and Bill who have helped so much through our journey of life. A special cousin Rose, a very good friend Vicky....and of course our fur babies Precious and XOE who loved him as much as he loved them. He met two amazing ladies at Guthrie, Erin and Amanda who could make him smile through his battle. Until I see you again sweetie, I love you and always will.
Funeral services will be held Saturday September 28th at 1:00 PM at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY with the Rev. Clarence F. Rumble officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
