Ronald R Childers, age 69 of Ivanhoe passed peacefully Sunday June 19, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 3, 1953 in New Hanover County son of the late McKinley and Hester Capps Childers.
He is survived by his son, Timothy and Tanya Childers of Zebulon; three daughters, Tracy and Jonathan Pate of Willard, Lila Michelle Johnson of Fremont, and Christy R. Childers of CA; ten grandchildren, Dixie Childers, Casey Childers, McKinley Childers, Jackson Childers, Breanna Alford, Brayden Pate, Charlie Pate, Hannah Johnson, Michaela Reagan, and Samantha Riske; two great grandchildren, Haylee Sage and Kristopher Caleb; twin brother, Donald D Childers; and many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was an industrial Pipe fitter by trade. He retired at the age of 62 and started working in his wood shop. He also helped part time at Coastal Septic Solutions. Ronald was a dedicated father, brother and son. He loved to teach his family and friends how to do anything and was a jack of all trades. His greatest hobby was wood working, and his greatest love was his family.
A memorial service will be at 7:00 PM Friday June 24, 2022 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Charles Lee will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service.
