Ronald L. Crabb, age 86, of Manitowoc passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on May 4, 1939, in Two Rivers, a son of the late Walter and Viola (Sturm) Crabb. He grew up in Two Rivers and attended Two Rivers schools. Following high school, Ron entered the United States Army and served from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1960. On December 3, 1960, Ron was married to the former Nancy A. Duveneck at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. The family has lived in Manitowoc since 1960. Ron worked for the Manitowoc Company, retiring in 1999. He also was a Projectionist at all the movie theaters in Manitowoc, at various times.
He was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, a life member of Manitowoc AMVETS Post #99 receiving the 2023-2024 Life Member Award. Ron volunteered for many organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters, AMVETS distribution of American Flags at Calvary Cemetery for Memorial Day and was a blood donor for 48 years. Ron and Nancy enjoyed hiking, biking, traveling, dancing, and spending time with their family. He touched so many people during his life, and he was a devout Christian.
Survivors include his wife: Nancy A. Crabb, Manitowoc; seven children: Sarah Lynn Crabb, Manitowoc, Lisa (Keith) Geiger, Manitowoc, Rhonda (Greg) Buechner, Whitelaw, Sheila Evanoff, Random Lake, David (Bridget) Crabb, Manitowoc, Daniel (Tara) Crabb, Manitowoc, Douglas (Sarah) Crabb, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law: Laura (Jack) Sroka, Green Bay; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Jon (Carolee) Crabb, Two Rivers, Peggy Van Driest, Cedar Grove; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Viola Crabb; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Jerry (Judy) Crabb, Glenn Crabb; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Pat (Lew) Stevens, Darlene (Joe) Pluth.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev's Stephen Melso and Caleb Davisson will officiate with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded by AMVETS Post #99.
