Ronald Erdman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James A. Reed Funeral Home - Pillow on Oct. 10, 2025.
Ronald "Jack" Erdman, 88, of Dornsife, passed away peacefully at his home on October 7, 2025. He was born on February 19, 1937, in Hunter Station to the late Mary and Homer Erdman.
Jack proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962, demonstrating the same quiet strength and dedication that would define his life. While enlisted, Jack was stationed in Germany during the Berlin Conflict.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Erdman;his daughter Alicia Troutman (Dan); and his sons Duane Erdman (Lisa), and Rahn Erdman (Michele). Jack was a proud grandfather to Nichole Hicks, Meghan Daniels (Josh), Alyson Erdman (Pete Shingara), and Mandy Erdman. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Kai Hicks, Quinn, Everly, and Clay Daniels, and Pete, Hank, Victor, and Loretta Shingara. He is also survived by his sister, Yvonne Lenig. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jacquelyn and his brothers Ernest and Dennis Erdman.
A skilled carpenter by trade, Jack was self-employed and well known for his exceptional craftsmanship-especially the intricate stairways he built. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, camping, and traveling with his wife and their camping buddies. Jack will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving Grandpa, and a man of few words who always did things his own way. His quiet strength and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Himmels Church in Dornsife. A Military burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In remembrance of Jack's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Line Mountain Food Bank.
