Ronald Lee Fisher, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025, in Ankeny, Iowa, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 15, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa, Ron was the son of Conrad R. & Agnes M. (Kovacevich) Fisher. He attended Dowling High School, where he met the love of his life, Marlene Grant who attended St. Joseph's Academy. The two were married in 1967 at the Basilica of St. John and built a beautiful life together rooted in love, family, and Catholic faith.

A man of many talents, Ron's lifelong passion was cars. In 1972, he founded Fisher Body & Paint, where he served as the owner and operator until his retirement in 2006. He had a particular talent for restoring classic Chevys and was a frequent participant and proud winner of many awards at classic car shows throughout the Midwest. He was a long-time member of the GoodGuys Classic Car Association. His craftsmanship and dedication to excellence earned him the admiration of many in the automotive community.

Ron was known not only for his skill, but also for his generosity-always ready to lend a hand or share his knowledge. He served on the Polk County Board of Adjustments for 25 years. He designed and built his family dream home in addition to his successful business. He enjoyed many summers at his lake house and loved boating, snowmobiling and car races while "always trying to get the story straight". Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and nothing brought him greater joy than his family.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marlene; his pup Alfie, his three children: Veronica (Marty) Barillas of Des Moines, IA; Jason (Renae Johanningmeier) Fisher of West Des Moines, IA; and Vancy (Garrett) Kiesle of El Dorado Hills, CA; his six grandchildren - Ellie (Dallas, TX), Jackson (Dallas, TX) & Ava Kiesle (Tucson, AZ) and Nico, Cruz & Beck Barillas (Des Moines, IA), his sister Sharon Reid, sister-in-law Marilyn Fisher and many nieces, nephews & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert and brother-in-law Robert Reid. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, faith and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by the Rosary. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by a memorial lunch and interment at Glendale Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ron's honor.
