Ronald Michael Gartman

Ronald Michael Gartman, 84 of Ocala, Florida Passed away on October 24 2025 in Ocala, Florida.
Ron was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Wilbert and Juanita Gartman on June 20, 1941. He went to Rhodes High School and graduated in 1959. He went on to complete Law Officer training and served on the Seven Hils Police Department for 34 years, ending his career a Detective Sergeant. He enjoyed volunteering for many civic organizations and as a bailiff for the Marion County Florida Courts. Gardening was his passion along with baking and cooking. He worked out diligently and won the gold medal in the Police Olympics for bench pressing. He was a lifelong member of the Elks and founding member of Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Assoc.
Ron is survived by his wife of 47 years Marion of Ocala, Florida. Children Michael, Edward Vajda (Lynn), Ellen Vajda and Patricia Lane (Michael). Grandsons Glenn Vajda and Christopher Lane. Sister Beverly Mularchik (Dave dec.) and brother Richard (Judy), nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by parents Wilbert and Juanita and brother Donald (Loretta).
Funeral service will be held at Roberts of Ocala West Chapel, 6241 SW State Rd. 200 Ocala, Florida on November 22, 2025 with Pastor Pam Thomas of Meadowbrook Church officiating. Burial will be held in the spring of 2026 in Cleveland Ohio after a Celebration of Life service.
