Ronald J. Gebhart, age 86, of Spring Grove, passed away on December 4, 2024 at UPMC Hanover. He was the loving husband of the late Linda L. (Reichart) Gebhart who passed away on June 3, 2020; together they shared 48 years of marriage.
Ronald was born in Hanover, PA on November 20, 1938 and was the son of the late Emory and Kathryn (Houser) Gebhart. He graduated from Delone Catholic High School Class of 1957 and worked as a grocery manager for all of his life prior to his retirement. Ronald was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover, and a life member of the Hanover Elks and the McSherrystown Home Assoc. He also enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and time spent with his family.
Ronald is survived by his children Kimberly Daniel and husband Roland, Terry Becker, Laurie Ruby and husband Tim, Cindy Marshall, Danielle Corteville and husband Jeff, and Larry Marshall and wife Beth; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by two grandsons; and his siblings Wayne Gebhart, Dennis Gebhart, and Susan Gebhart.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Ronald's life will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 1:30PM at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344 with Rev. Michael Rothan, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 12:30PM – 1:30PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronald's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
