Ronald "Ron" Gritzan

Ronald "Ron" Gritzan, 68, of Strasburg was born on June 23, 1956, in Massillon, Ohio. He passed away on May 19, 2025, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. He was a beloved figure in his community, known for his generous spirit and unwavering commitment to uplifting those around him.
Ron graduated from Strasburg High School in the class of 1974, laying the groundwork for a professional life marked by dedication and service. After 32 years at Timken, he transitioned to a new venture, co-founding Alron Sheet Metal Fabrication in 2004. In addition, Ron served in ministry at the New Apostolic Church, dedicating 34 years to this calling and touching the lives of many through his guidance and support.
A warm and compassionate individual, Ron was the type of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His joyful presence was a staple at the Strasburg Vacation Bible School, as he made it his mission to provide an uplifting experience for children and families alike. Ron was deeply rooted in his faith as a member of the New Apostolic Church in Massillon, further reflecting his commitment to serving his community and nurturing the spiritual growth of others. In his personal life, Ron cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, finding immense joy in each moment shared with them.
He married Tanya Zehnder on April 29, 1978. They had just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. He also leaves behind his daughters, Dena (Renne) Komula of Columbus and Karly (Andy) Howell of Strasburg; his grandchildren, Noah and Luke Komula and Kole and Flynn Howell; his brother, Walter Gritzan; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Herbert and Christel Gritzan, Ron was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ulrich Hoffman; stepmother, Betty Hoffman; and his brother, Herbert Gritzan.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Strasburg. Music will begin at 1:15 p.m., followed by a service.
