Ronald Heasley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home on Apr. 24, 2024.
Ronald Preston Heasley, age 66, of Tionesta, PA, beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at his home.
Born June 22, 1957, the son of the late Dr. Kenneth and Wilma (Lange) Heasley, Ron is survived by his loving and cherished family: two sisters, Kitty McIndoe and her husband Pat of Concord, NC, and their children Mynda and Bayli Rossman and Hanna McIndoe; Juli Heasley-Cameron and her husband Alex of Markleysburg, PA, and their children Bridger and Mickey; three brothers, Keith Heasley and his wife Kelly of Bruceton Mills, WV, and their son Sam; David Heasley of Monroeville, PA, and his daughters Andi and Kate and their mother Sue (Wallace) Heasley; Matthew Heasley and his wife Melissa of Cranberry Twp., PA (Butler Co.), and their daughters Nikki and Lauren and son Tyler. Ron was the great uncle of Genni, Nathan, and Jason.
A graduate of West Forest High School, Class of 1975, Ron managed the Tionesta Beach each summer during his college years. He maintained lifelong friendships with his classmates through the many reunions he organized and his kindness and generosity toward all. Classmates Holli Buzard Smith and Patrick O'Toole were lifelong friends from pre-school until his passing.
Ron earned advanced degrees at Allegheny College (Bachelor and Master's) and the University of Oregon (Master's). He taught high school math before pursuing a career in university technology administration at Allegheny College, Embry-Riddle University, and Elizabethtown College where he retired in 2017.
Ron loved life. He loved his family, friends, travel, theater, swimming, Kitty Hawk, and collecting most anything related to his varied interests. He made many acquaintances wherever his adventures took him, but he always maintained a special love for his hometown, Tionesta.
Returning to Tionesta upon retirement, Ron vigorously engaged in community service leadership roles with the Lions Club, Forest County Historical Society, Tionesta Community Association, West Forest Alumni Association, and more. He proudly spearheaded the organization of two all-school West Forest reunions that brought together hundreds of graduates to share memories and rekindle friendships.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta with time to be announced at a later date. Friends and family may consider a donation to one of Ron's favorite service organizations mentioned above.

I´m remembering introducing myself to Ron when I saw one of his 1st photos of the river and swimming rocks! I said hello you must be our new neighbor! And now after the happy years knowing him, I´m comforted knowing he came to share a meal with us April 9th, before we left for home never to be with him again. I´ll remember you Ron always with prayers you are safely with your family and Our Blessed Lord.
