Ronald Hedlund Obituary
Ron proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Air Weatherman until his honorable discharge on October 31, 1955. Following his military service, he pursued higher education at Butler University and remained an active member of the Butler Alumni Association. He was also affiliated with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Ron owned and operated Hedlund Hardware at 62nd Street and Keystone Avenue-a family business with a legacy spanning over 90 years. His commitment to the store reflected his strong work ethic and deep ties to the community.
Outside of work, Ron found joy on the water. He loved boating and spent countless hours exploring lakes across Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida. His adventurous spirit extended beyond the U.S., as he traveled extensively around the world.
Ron is survived by his beloved spouse, Mary Hedlund; his sons Michael (Jeanie), Timothy (Mary), Christopher (Theresa), Anthony (Kathy), Phillip, and Martin (Kelly) Hedlund; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and stepdaughters Tandace Joseph, Dee (Larry) Taylor, Robbi (Marlin) Horner, and Shaun (Joseph) Settle.

I always thought Ron was a great person and had a fantastic sense of humor. He and Mary made a great couple. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Ron was a wonderful man. We were married 32 years. I truly loved him. He and I traveled and boated a lot of our early years. Since day one Ron took me around the world. Our lives the last few years unfortunately was separated by the terrible disease, Dementia! Ron will always be in my heart and soul! LOVE YOU!

Ron will be missed. He always made me laugh-
Putting his leg into the arm of his wetsuit, he thought his suit was too small.
He accidentally packed his 9-year-old grandson's underwear and thought he had gained weight while on a cruise.
Put Mom's swim shorts on instead of his and strutted around with his bowlegs.
I thank him for being a part of our lives and giving us 6 brothers.
