Ronald Timothy Houska, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023. He was born to the late Harry and Hermine Houska on December 20, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Western Reserve University in 1955 and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Ron entered the Air Force in February of 1956 and earned his wings as a single engine jet pilot. He served a year in Korea flying an F-86 fighter jet and also flew F-84 jet aircraft with the Air National Guard. Ron lived most of his life in Northeast Ohio. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed making cedar hope chests and foot lockers for all of his grandchildren.
Ron's beloved wife of 22 years, Barbara Jeanne (Searles) Houska, preceded him in death. He is survived by his four children, Michael (Brenda), Ronda (Dominic) Giardini, Robert (Neetta) and Timothy; his 12 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Ron is also survived by two stepsons, Jonathan (Sibel) and Jacob (Jana) Lacquement; along with 2 step grandchildren.
The family will hold private services and he will be laid to rest with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
