Ronnie was born December 10th 1966 to Parents Johnny & Shirley Johnson, in Bakersfield, Ca.
He passed away in his sleep unexpectedly, at his home on May 26th, 2023. Ronnie grew up his
whole life in Oildale, Ca. raised by his father Johnny. Ronnie attended School at Little
Beardsley, Beardsley Jr High, and then moved on to North High School. In high school Ronnie
was a member of North High's Football Team the North Stars. He played all four years of High
School. Ronnie was a part of the graduating class of "85". Ronnie also played other sports like
Baseball, for NOR where he played 1st Baseman. He enjoyed playing Golf, Racing BMX
Bicycles where he earned the nickname "Romping Ronnie Johnson". During his years in school,
Ronnie had a job as a bag boy at "Disco Food Store" in Oildale and helped his dad do the jobs
for their family owned business R&J Janitorial. Ronnie enjoyed spending time with his friends
playing football at the park, Cruising Chester & Hart park on the weekends when he wasn't
skating on Rollerama Speed Team. After High School Ronnie took a Vocational college course
to become a Certified Welder which became his career for over 20+years. In 1993 Ronnie
moved to Harrisburg, PA. where he lived for more than 15yrs, he became interested in Body
Building and spent a lot of time there at the local gym. Where he met and became friends with
some of the Pittsburgh Steelers team members. They encouraged him to try out for the team
as a walk-on but Ronnie wasn't quite ready for that. but he ended up playing with a semi - pro
team "The Fatheads. During his time in Harrisburg, PA, Ronnie attended college courses,
pursuing a degree in Welding/Engineering at a local college in Pennsylvania. Ronnie became a
father to his first daughter, Samantha (Johnson) Pagan- Rodriguez, 29, Born 12-23-1993, then
was blessed again with a son, Justin Johnson, 27 (born 11-2-1996). They were both his whole
life. In the beginning of the 2000's Ronnie returned to his hometown of Oildale, Ca., where he
was reunited with an old high school friend, Christine Garcia. They were best friends for many
years until 2008 when they both realized it was more than friendship and they realized they
were soulmates and announced their love for one another. In November of 2009, Ronnie and
Christine announced they were pregnant and expecting a child. They were blessed with the
birth of their daughter Hope Shirlene Johnson, (Born August 5th, 2010) which all who knew him
knew the separation from Samantha and Justin haunted him. He tried so hard to stay in contact
with them both but was separated from them due to a messy divorce and the distance between
them (them on the east coast and him on the west coast). But all who knew him knows, never
once did he ever stop thinking of them every second of everyday. But, when Hope came into
this world it gave Ronnie and his life a whole new meaning. Although Samantha and Justin
never once left his mind or his heart. He mourned the separation from the day they were
separated, until the day he was called back to heaven by our Good Lord. His sister believes he
died due to a broken heart, grieving for Samatha and Justin, but the birth of Hopie J saved him
easing that grief just a little. She gave him a reason to live again.
In 2020 during the pandemic, Ronnie started working with his Brother in law James Angeloni,
becoming an Electricians Apprentice with Angeloni Electrical Service, Ronnie was excited
about learning a new trade and he enjoyed the new challenge. He also did side jobs when he
had the time for a local construction company.
Before his passing Ronnie confided that he would like to go back to college to become a
Certified Auto Mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, although he was stubborn and would
never admit it. Anyone who spent time with Ronnie, knew his passion was football. Everyone
alway knew where to find Ronnie on Sundays, during football. Posted in front of the television
watching his team. "GO Bengals". Ronnie was a die hard Bengals Fan. Even when he lived in
Harrisburg, PA. and everyone there was Steelers fan, if the Bengal played the Steelers on their
home field, if you looked at the crowd of steeler fans in the stands and you looked close enough
you would see 1 person in the crowd of steelers fans wearing Bengals gear.yep that was
Ronnie. He was a Bengals fan till the end you can all all bet when the next superbowl comes
for the Bengals, you can bet he will be watching that game too, not in Heaven, nope he will fly
down and sit right on the goal post for the Bengals. "Welcome to the Jungle Who Dey?" he'd
Say. He and His nephew Matthew Pacheco shared the love of the Bengals, that was what
made him and Matt Matt so close. Ronnie also put up one helluva argument when it came time
to name his last child (Which they knew was a girl) He fought a good fight over trying to name
her Boomer, but he lost, but was satisfied with her having the Last name Johnson and being
born on August 5 (Ocho-Cinco) just like the Famous Bengals Quarterback. When his last
daughter was born, Ronnie would gaze at his baby girl and talk to her, telling her "Hope, you
give me HOPE" that is exactly what she did. Even though he continued to Grieve over
Samantha and Justin until the day he died. Hopie J, gave him a reason for living, his sister
always told Hope, that she saved Ronnie. Had she not come along, We would have been
writing these words sooner. But, Hope, she gave him the HOPE he needed to keep living. For
that we are all so very thankful.
