Ronald E. Kerestes, 75, passed away on May 10, 2025, at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community in Mt. Carmel.

He was born in Shamokin on January 23, 1950, the son of Edward J. and Shirley (Keefer) Kerestes.

Ronald was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel and a 1967 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy.

Ronald was a life member of the Anthracite Fire Company, where he worked as a bartender. He also bartended at the former Gusty's Bar on Oak Street in Mt. Carmel. Ronald served as a drill instructor for several area high school marching bands, including Mount Carmel, Shamokin, Shikellamy, Southern Columbia, Danville, Bald Eagle-Nittany, Williamsport, and Montoursville.

Ronald is survived by a nephew, Che Kerestes, aunt, Carol Kwiatkowski and close friends Craig Wywadis and Michael Roney. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Kerestes.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 11 am with Reverend Rose Marquardt officiating in the Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Anthracite Fire Company to help support their truck fund, 1 N Market St, Mt Carmel, PA 17851.
