Ronald Forrest Limbaugh
On October 1, 2025, at 82 years old, Ronald Forrest Limbaugh was welcomed with open arms into the Promise Land by his Heavenly Father.
Ronald was born on September 21,1943 to Dorothy Zimmerman Limbaugh and Forrest Limbaugh at his grandmother's home in the Farris Chapel Community. From an early age, he learned the value of a day's work. His hands, though calloused, were known for their skill and ability to fix almost anything, a talent he honed as a young man working alongside his father and uncle on their family farm.
After graduating from Franklin County High School in 1962, Ronald married his high school sweetheart Marcine Nunley, on December 16 of that same year. Together, they were blessed with two sons: Ronald Forrest Limbaugh ll (Ronnie) and John Haskel Limbaugh. Ronald took pride in being a father and approached the role with a sense of responsibility and consistency.
Over the course of his working life, Ronald held several jobs. Two of the most notable being his ten years with Tennessee Valley Association (TVA) and the twenty years he spent at Wagner. In 2009, after spending several years at Yates Services, Ronald was finally able to celebrate retirement.
His family roots in the Farris Chapel and Belvidere communities ran deep. More than a neighbor, Ronald was a protector and a friend, spending a decade as a firefighter with the Belvidere Volunteer Fire Department.
Known affectionately as "Papa Limbaugh", Ronald was proud of his three grandchildren, Anna, Ivey, and Luke. He was currently a member of Farris Chapel United Methodist Church and made time each day for devotionals and studying the Word of God.
As a lifelong outdoorsman, Ronald found contentment in fishing, deer hunting, and spending peaceful afternoons riding his four-wheeler. In his younger years, he enjoyed off-roading in his Jeep with Marcine and their closest friends. In his later years, usually dressed in a pair of navy dickies, Ronald could be found gardening, tinkering in his barn, watching old westerns, and always keeping an eye on Farris Chapel.
In the Kingdom of Heaven, Ronald was reunited with his parents, Dorothy and Forrest Limbaugh. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Marcine Limbaugh; his two sons, Ronnie (Mark) Limbaugh of Chattanooga and John (Tricia) Limbaugh of Winchester; his grandchildren, Anna (Keaton) Limbaugh, Ivey Limbaugh, and Luke (Courtney) Limbaugh; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Bentley Forrest Limbaugh, and Silas who is on the way.
He is also survived by his sisters, Gwen Coutta and Irene (Kenneth) Whaley, along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service honoring Ronald's life will follow immediately at funeral home, led by Rev. Ronnie Pittenger and Rev. Randy Brown. Pallbearers will be Luke Limbaugh, Shay Housley, Shad Housley, David Scharber, Jaden Frame, and Quinton Steele. Following the service, Ronald will be laid to eternal rest at Belvidere United Christian Church, alongside generations of family who came before him.
