Ronald Gregg Mecham

Ronald Gregg Mecham, age 70, passed away on January 12, 2026 at his home in Highland, Utah. Ron endured many lifelong chronic health conditions with a sense of humor and tenacity.

Ron was born in Provo, Utah on July 14, 1955. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Glena Mecham, LeRoy and Margaret Laycock; his wife, Ruth Sherrow Mecham; and brother, Michael Mecham. Ron is survived by brothers Lester Molyneux (Laureen), Lynn Mecham (Karen), Robert Mecham (Dorothy), David Laycock (Sharon), and his sisters, Barbara Mitchell (Rick Harvey), Terri Covington (Cameron Baxter), Tacy Pifher (Louis), and Carlene Peterson (Scott).

He is remembered by his daughters and sons, Amanda Larsen (Justin) of Fillmore, UT, Andrew Mecham of Highland, UT, Austin Mecham (Allison) of Highland, UT, Ashley Taylor (Patrick) of American Fork, UT, Ryan Mecham (Sam) of American Fork, UT, and six grandchildren (with one on the way!), Braden Larsen, Bailey Larsen, Oline Taylor, Everett Taylor, Louise Taylor, and Remington Mecham.

Ron was a devoted husband and father, and he and Ruth raised their five children together in Highland, Utah. Ron and Ruth celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on August 16th, 2022, before Ruth's death in November 2022.

Ron was an incredibly hard worker, working two full time jobs for over 25 years to support his family. He faced life with a relentless sense of humor, as reflected by his epitaph: "Old mailmen don't die, they get returned to sender". Ron loved Halloween, and his intricate pumpkin carvings were a cherished attraction for anyone that visited his home.

Ron was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his Lord and cherished the comfort he found in His teachings.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 5212 Country Club Dr, Highland, UT 84003. The viewing will begin at 10:00 am with the funeral following at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Highland Cemetery at 6200 W 11000 N, Highland, UT 84003.
