Ronald "Ron" Messmer, 74, of Plainfield, passed away on December 31, 2024 surrounded by loving family members.  He was born on June 14, 1950 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Duane and Evelyn Messmer.  Ron was a Marsh Supermarket store manager for 47 years before retiring.  He was a faithful member of Calvary Church in Plainfield and loved doing the Lord's work.  Ron's favorite Bible verse was (Proverbs 3:5-6) "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths".  Ron was known for telling dad jokes.  He was a fan of the Lions, Bills and most of all a Colts fan.  Ron really enjoyed watching IU sports especially this years football season.  He loved spending time with his family as often as he could.  Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Douglas and John Messmer.  Visitation will be Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Calvary Church (1290 S. Center Street, Plainfield, IN 46168).  A Celebration Of Life will be Wednesday, January 8, at 11:00 am in the church.  Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Messmer; children, Sarah (Jasun) Fletcher, Liz (Kyle) Lewis and Andy (Lindsey) Messmer; sisters, Linda (Mark) Selby and Marianne (David) Schell; step children, Dan (Kelly) Chojnowski, Mike (Jennifer) Chojnowski and Jon (Liz) Rohring; 13 grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Gideons International link below.
