Ronald Joseph “Shake” Misejka, of Natrona Heights, passed away on November 12, 2025 surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 78. Ronald was born on July 13, 1947 in Natrona Heights, PA to Joseph and Dorothy (Pater) Misejka.
Ron married his High School sweetheart Linda (Crowe) Misejka, who he often referred to as his Guardian Angel and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
He was a 1965 graduate of Tarentum High School and was the Quarterback for the Tarentum Redcats. He enlisted in the Air Force shortly after graduating and was stationed at K.I. Sawyer AFB, SAC in Upper Peninsula, Michigan and served from 1965 to 1969.
He retired as a Port Authority Bus Operator after 30+ years and a Zoning & Ordinance Officer of Harrison Township after 15 years and served on the Highlands School Board and owned Shake’s Place.
He recently received the 2025 Highlands Honored Hero Award in recognition of his service in the US Air Force.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he was full of life, loved his camp and everyone who knew him for his gift for gab and also his sense of humor. He loved music, had numerous bands, was a DJ, taught line dancing and even produced a record in 1963 w/his band The Marauders titled Slidin In. He also enjoyed wood-working, always making something new.
He will be dearly missed by his family & friends, everyone knew him as Shake.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Crowe) Misejka, daughter, Lisa (fiancé Eric) Pacek, son, Ronald (Hilary) Misejka, son, Jeffrey (Amber) Misejka, his grandchildren, Thomas (Sadie), Dylan, Caitlin (Keith), Evan, Hannah, Adele and great-grandson, Theodore, brother, Joseph (Jaye) Misejka, brother Kenneth (Michelle) Misejka, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin infant daughters.
Ron's family would like to thank the staff of AHN Hospice, Forbes Hospital and West Penn Hospital for their care and support.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a parting prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with his pastor the Rev. John B. Lendvai as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard. The Ladies of Charity will hold services in the funeral home on Sunday at 2:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Ron may be made to Guardian Angels Parish, 800 Montana Ave., Natrona Heights, Pa. 15065.
